I can't seem to get the wrap along the control figured . What is the "wrapping line offset from bottom of picture" dimension relate to? Is it (A ) the height of the point from datum X0Y0 up the Y axis to the desired point of wrapping on the background shape? (B) the actual measurement of the distance from the bottom edge of the background shape to the desired wrapping point? or have I totally missed the plot. How does the length wise and width wise shrink / stretch factor relate? I've been here backgrounds and scans and here Single message by Martin Wynne Topic: Group Bend/ group curving function. is there anything else on the subject as i can't find a help file on the subject either? cheers paul |

Hi Paul, The image wrapping function was added new in Templot2. Like many of the new Templot2 features it is still waiting for the Help notes. I'm very sorry about that. In fact I think you are the first user to specifically ask about it. I'm working on a bit of tutorial for you, but it may be a while before it's ready. I started with the 25" scan of Corfe Castle which Neil Berrington uploaded in this topic: topic 1046 and loaded it as a normal track plan picture shape: 2_171214_340000000.png If anyone wants to try it, the original image file in the Gallery is 300dpi and 1:2500 scale: gallery/46/original/46_131232_230000000.png Thanks Neil. The intention was to fit it into the corner of a room, and this is the result, now ready to have the remaining tracks aligned over it: 2_171214_340000001.png 2_171214_350000002.png This is a 2-stage process, using the wrapping function twice. First to straighten out the original running line, and then to wrap it onto the corner curve. The process is not difficult, but also not immediately obvious, so I shall have to prepare a sequence of detailed screenshots. I hope to have it done soon. p.s. I moved this to the "Templot talk" forum -- the "Tips and tutorials" forum is for posting answers, not questions. regards, Martin. |

Thanks for that Martin, sorry about the wrong forum posting. No major rush I can export to Blender and do it there, but as the function was there I thought I would give it a go. I didn't straighten first, hence the weird results most probably, so I will give it another go. |
