And well worth the wait. I notice that the layout includes one of those unusual looking, Germanic outside double-slips, that sometimes get mentioned on Templot. It looks hand-made and obviously works.
An incentive for some of our N Scale modellers?

Really great scenic stuff. But I'm never convinced by the finish on model German locomotives. The red in particular looks too plasticy. A touch of matt varnish or something might help.

Martin,

Do you know what track and wheel standards are being used?   I've gone through several pages of the forum thread but can't see any details of them.  I thought it might be FS160 but I get the feeling that some of the check rail gaps are finer than 0.5mm if the Code 40 rail has a 0.5mm head.

But some really superb modelling - including the water under the bridges on Page 2 and 3 of the thread.

I used FoxLingo in Firefox to do the translating - it gets close enough to get the gist of what's being said. :D

Hi Jim,

Sorry no. I know only as much as you. Jim S-W posted the link earlier today on the Scalefour Soc forum.

Martin,

I might drop a message on the 2mm Association Yahoo list to see if anyone knows any more.  There are several European FS160 modellers on there and they may have more information.

Just found out from a response on the 2mm Scale mailing list that the wheel standards are FS160,  or the same as 2mmFS with reduced gauge.  But the modeller makes non-operating, scenic dioramas and the track is probably built to exact scale as a model,  but not actually used for operating.   That also might explain why his locomotives are not quite up to the same standard as the rest of his modelling - i.e. they are a sort of necessary evil to complete his scenic masterpieces. :).
