Hi,
I've been using the group select functions a lot recently, but find the access via group>group select>fence options a bit fiddly for frequent use.
There's probably an easier way if only I could find it. But if there isn't an easy way right now, is it possible to devise one down the track (pun intended .... aargh!)?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

An easier way to do what? :)

There are lots of ways to add and remove templates from a group.

The new tag functions make it easy to re-create previous groups.

The green tool-button is a quick way to use the selection fence, you don't have to access it via the menu.

What are you trying to do?

regards,

Martin.

p.s. Mike,

The quickest way to add or remove templates from a group, if you don't want to use the selection fence, is like this (the video may take a few moments to load):

Note that you must click on the name label, not the template. Click to toggle the template in to or out of the group.

Press the ESC key to exit this mode.

regards,

Martin.

Thanks, Martin.
I'm working on a tram layout with all sorts of bits of templates, extended check rails etc. Not what Template was designed for, but it gives me good results, with only a few "check rails" to add in Corel Draw as I imitate the grooved rails.
I use Templot's group select fence often, with name labels off to keep the screen clear.
I find it easiest (that's me, not necessarily the easiest way!!!) to work with the fence, but quite often need to switch between the new/add/remove modes. That's when drilling down through menus every time becomes inconvenient (although it works).
Hope that explains what I'm trying to do.
Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,

If you don't want to use the menus or name labels, you can toggle a template in to or out of the group via its menu. You don't have to click the menu, you can just press G on the keyboard:

Can you say what additional function you would like to see? Clicking what where?

regards,

Martin.

Thanks again, Martin.
The G function is spot on. If only I'd spotted it earlier.
Regards,
Mike
