I have some 400 odd templates on my layout design in two gauges Sn3.5 and Sn2. I would like to build a test track first with the minimum radii in both gauges.

Is it possible to check statistics on templates? In my case isolating the template with the minimum radius, or would I have to go through all the templates in my Storage Box one by one, as I know I have "forced" some curves?

Thanks Paul

Hi Martin, when I looked at the heading I used I realized it was a bit confusing and can't edit it. It should read something like "Storage Box Statistics" or Access Storage Box template data":? Hope you can fix it and maybe even come up with a better title.

Cheers Paul

Paul, I'm happy with Storage Box and it's name. If you want to edit anything it needs to be made the control; so Storage Box is was it is.

To get the information you want click on the "info" button and the template data appears on the screen. For plain track about 15 lines down the info you'll see the radius for the template is given. Then click through the template list using the arrows on the storage box dialogue and you'll quickly find the low radii. For turnouts further down the info is a line with the "smallest radius in this turnout".

Hi Paul,

There is some data for the entire storage box contents at the box > box info menu item on the storage box. It doesn't include the smallest radius, but I will add that in the next update. To get the result for a specific track gauge you would need to group all the templates of that gauge. When working with mixed-gauge track it is a good idea to use prefix tags for each gauge -- then you can easily group them when needed.

In addition to Richard's suggestion, you could try box > print template info > all texts menu item. You won't want to physically print 400 pages of data, but you could create a PDF file using a PDF generator program. Then you can use the Search functions in your PDF viewer to find all occurrences of "smallest radius", or any other required data. I will add the option of using Templot's native PDF generator for this.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Richard, I think you misunderstand me,
Paul, I'm happy with Storage Box and it's name
what I meant was the title I gave to my post
Template Statistics
may not be very clear as to the content of the posting.

As for the rest, as you say I looked for what appeared to be the smallest radius templates visually and  used the "i" button in the template for the data as you suggest.

Hi Martin thanks for that a "smallest radius" inclusion in the
box > box info

Hi Martin, for some reason the reply screen froze and  I could not complete my post.
So once again thanks for that, a "smallest radius" inclusion in the "box > box info" menu item on the storage box would be great In the future, as for the PDF thing it would take me a lot longer just trying to get my head around working with PDFs.

Thanks Paul
