I enjoy building trackwork and recently added to my components stock pile, I have just about got a handle on 2, 3 and 4 bolt bullhead chairs and their uses and now want to do similarly with flatbottom parts
I have the following
Peco concrete sleepers with fixings (?)Peco Pandrol clipsC&L ST plates
Firstly in which date order do these items fit in to
Secondly if I use the Peco concrete sleepers and clips, what type of timbers would have been used with what fixings
Thirdly what type of sleeper would the Pandrol clips have been used on, and again what type of timbers and fixings would have been used on turnouts
The concrete sleepers are 32 mm long, the packet states for use with 00, EM & P4 gauges, are they 8' or 8'6" sleepers
I am planning to make a small diorama based on flatbottom trackwork with associated track and lineside  equipment, but that's another question for later
Thanks in advance
John

Thanks for the suggestion, I have spoken with Colin a couple of times. As you may know Colin makes parts for modern turnouts, using both copperclad sleepers, etched and cast parts. I think these are of a more modern era than the parts I am considering.

Looking at the info on the MMRC page you referred me to, the Peco sleepers look close to the F7, F7A & F7B type sleeper, now looking at the photos the Peco clips look nothing like the Pandrol clips used on them, they may be something like a much later clip used on a different looking concrete sleeper which has an integral baseplate. Looks like the ST base plates were on wooden sleepers. The Peco Pandrol clips I have read are oversize, but would go with the sleepers.

Also confirmed that the sleepers are 8'6" so these sleepers are for 00 gauge at 32 mm long

I think I will have to look through some photos. Thanks for the information as its given me a good start. Thanks again

John:
The Peco clips are horrendously overscale.
If you want to copy a place/system, let us know, & I can then be of more help.
If by chance you are at the York show Sat/Mon, I'm on the DEMU stand.

Thanks for your interest, I have no particular place in mind as of yet (thats the next thread)I enjoy building track and hope that when retirement comes along it could be a bit of a part time business, just to keep my mind active after I get my last pay packet. So I would like to build a portfolio of small cameos in case they are needed.

With these parts I would like to build a small diorama depicting perhaps a turnout(s) and crossing with plain track along with the apparatus that should be both between (AWS ramps, tiebars, TPWS grids etc)and outside of both rails (Point motors, Ccabinets, trunking etc)

I have looked at the sleepers and if I use the ST base plates I may get the cants wrong as it looks like they would be on a downward internal slope, the track clips enclosed are very fine and may hold the rail at the correct angle

I may write to Peco and see if they have any info on what both parts are based on. I may also get a packet of C&L Dow Mac sleepers, but I am guessing they will be for EM/P4 in size
If anyone feels they can offer thoughts or advice, please do so
