Hi TTP, Stub switch is what the Americans call them. Very popular in the early 1800's. The only real advantage was in snowy areas the moving rail just pushes the snow away when moving rather than trapping it between the switch rail and the stock rail. Matt M. |

There was a very famous 3-way stub point at Portmadog on the Festiniog Railway, which I think is now in Minfford yard. I happened to have modelled this in S4n2 - see photos on my old website at this link. | ||
