I've diagnosed and resolved this problem now, but thought you ought to know about it... I haven't used Templot (or made any track) for a while. Yesterday I fired it up again (2.07a) and got the 'not the latest version' error and told to download the latest - 2.11b. No surprises there. I downloaded 2.11b, installed it and it fired up just fine from the installer. Fired it up again today... got the splash screen saying it was 2.11b and then the error 'not the latest version'. Then the browser page opens telling me I need to download... 2.11b. I've now found out that there really *IS* a new version, but I'd have to say that this caused me a good deal of confusion and several attempts at deinstalls, reinstalls etc before I discovered the correct answer. I also discovered that hitting F5 on the browser page causes it to show the correct version in the warning message... but I only tried that after I'd worked out what the problem was. Could I suggest the use of some HTTP caching headers on the version warning web page to prevent anyone else getting into this situation? Thanks. Regards, Andy |

Thanks Andy. I have now modified the source. It is 10 months since the 211b program update, so it was unfortunate that you were updating to 211b only a few hours before I uploaded 212a. Browsers often cache images for long periods, but pages usually only for a few days. regards, Martin. |
