I have been asked to make a plan for a 3 way where both roads turn out on the same (right) side. 36" radius has been requested which I guess A5 fits the bill in 4fs Do I follow the tutorial for the 3 way please and are their any subtle differences Thanks in advance John |

I am having a bit of a blank with this one, forget the title it is a B7 & B8 I have the heal end all ok but I need the toe end straight Is the first crossing OK, cannot fathom how to put a break in the 2 main turnouts but happy to build over it if the placing of the Vee is correct. Come to that I can manually straighten the toe end Thanks in advance, sorry for being a bit dim with the finer points of the software |

Hi John, Unfortunately you have made a common mistake with tandem turnouts -- you have the switches too close together. There is not room to open this second switch blade behind the first rail: 2_301301_590000000.png Tandem turnouts are not straightforward, there is a guide to the design points beginning here: topic 2394 - message 16119 If you can state exactly what main road and turnout road radii you are looking for, I will see what I can do. Is this tandem required to fit in an existing track plan? regards, Martin. |

Martin Thanks, I thought (wrongly) I had left enough room The main road should be straight, the inside road about 36" the middle in between the two Thank you |

Hi John, How does this look? .box file attached below. The 1st turnout is a 12ft switch with 1:5.5 V-crossing. Radius 36.7" The 2nd turnout is an A-7 The 3rd V-crossing is 1:8.29 All crossings curviform. 2_302019_570000000.png 2_302020_190000000.png regards, Martin. |
