Hi,

Has anyone any images of turn outs and switches for the Midland circa 1900 ish? Particularly looking for detail on the stretcher bars etc.

Any images for the ballasting of this period would also be very helpful.

Thanks

Tim

Thanks Rodney for both links.... Much appreciated. The detailed discussions on signalling will be interesting reading - haven't even started to think about that.

Tim,

me again

according to the index here
http://www.midlandrailway.org.uk/midland-record/

there is an article in Midland Record ..
Midland Record 32 (published November 2010)
Midland Railway’s System of Maintaining the Permanent Way and Works by W. Lewis-Meredith

I have not seen it, but it might contain useful info on MR trackwork.

Hello Tim
Did you find any photos of MR turnout stretcher bars (circa 1900) in Midland Record?
I am also modelling MR 1900 and am looking for photos of typical turnouts and Double slip to see the timbering arrangements (12" and 14" widths) as well as the interlacing or long timbers on a crossover for example.
