I did try to reply through the forum, but got blocked. I was asked to log in, despite being told I was logged in at the top of the screen so couldn't go any further! Anyway, much as I hate to be the bearer of bad news, that crossover isn't technically correct! A broad/narrow gauge crossover has the narrow gauge swapping sides so that a narrow gauge train will still be against the platform face on either track. MRJ issue 1, pages 36 & 37 show the correct layout, and I suspect I have a new Christmas project  (I just happen to be playing with mixed-gauge track in Templot at the moment - standard and 3ft 6in) Paul Boyd http://www.paul-boyd.co.uk/ |

MRJ issue 1, pages 36 & 37 show the correct layoutYes, thanks. I was aware of that, in fact I have that copy of MRJ. Notice also that the timbering is conventional rather than baulk road. The plan was done just as an example of mixing gauges in Templot, not necessarily based on a specific prototype. Doing a side-swap at the same time makes it even more complicated. That file has been on the Yahoo group for several years, I re-posted it here in response to an off-group enquiry about using Templot for mixed-gauge. There's quite a lot of my stuff in the Yahoo group files worth transferring to the new format with screenshots, that's why I set up the "Samples and examples" section -- although I haven't got very far with actually doing it.  For anyone else with stuff in the Yahoo group files which you would like to update and re-post, the "Share and show" forum is there just waiting for you. regards, Martin. |
