It appears that Ben has died, sadly, aged 91. Some of you will have come across his extraordinary archive of railway photographs, which he spent the last few years uploading to Geograph. The earliest dates from 1945: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4237989 and the last from 2016: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5354983 There are over 9000 of his pics on Geograph. Well worth remembering if you're delving into railways as they were. Nigel |
