Does anyone has the C&L code 75 LeadAlloy Steel Rail to sale? I was introduced to this rail by the late Ed MacCamey (an amazing guy that introduced me to the hobby and left us recently) and intend to use for my upcoming layout as I decided to not use Nickel Silver The bigger the stock you have the better. I am also interested on those old code 82/83 and 100 in ''regular steel" that usually came in old train sets and still are made by bachmann with a black roadbed, I do not care how broken they are as I will be handlaying them. Thank you very much. | ||

Hi Ewerthon, I assume you are asking about the old code75 Flat-Bottom rail? The C&L web site currently shows good stocks of code75 Bullhead rail in steel. They also have good stocks of code82 Flat-Bottom in steel: http://www.clfinescale.co.uk/online-store/Rail-Products-c32279029 cheers, Martin. |

Yes, 75 flat bottom. It will be the mainline rail. Code 82 its too big for it. Ad8hlQz.jpg It will be in mainline, the siding will be Code 55 steel rail from scalefour society, and 2mm steel code 40 bullhead (code 75 is too big as well) for some sections that were laid in late XIX/ early XX century and lasted way after the railroad demise in late 90s. At_Paranapiacaba_2018_180.jpg Here is from when bullhead was the main rail, a lighter section than BS95R (layout will be in HO) 3344097107_49ec58bc39.jpg a-ferrovia-14.jpg Just to have a glimpse on what I will be doing... |

Hi Ewerthon, Thanks for the pictures -- looks to be an interesting project. You could try asking Karlgarin about sourcing steel rail: http://www.karlgarin.com/ cheers, Martin. |

This sounds as though it will be a fascinating project. I wonder if Templot has the parameters for your track work - are you working to 1:87 scale (18.39mm gauge I believe)? Flat bottom rail fixings seemed variable (or even absent) 1520_160633_370000000.jpg For the bullhead track, should you use 3 or 4 bolt chairs? 1520_160636_010000000.jpg For those of you who may not be familiar with this place, on what was at one time "A Very British Railway", there will be lots of modelling challenges. From the fascinating little loco-breaks on the cable hauled section, through to the Beyer-Garratts (small and large) and Hitachi B-B electrics with coupling rods. Boa Sorte! |
