I've got the 44.67 as the correct EM gauge track centres, -What should they be increased to when the line is a siding rather than a running line? -Sorry if this is a stupid question answered elsewhere? |

russ wrote: I've got the 44.67 as the correct EM gauge track centres,Hi Russ, For sidings and loops alongside a running line, the rules require the spacing to be increased by 4ft scale, i.e. by an extra 16mm in EM. So that becomes 44.67 + 16 = 60.67mm as the new spacing dimension. There is a trick you can use when entering the data to avoid doing the mental arithmetic. If you prefix data in Templot* with a # symbol or a ; (semi-colon), the data will be added to the existing data instead of replacing it. So entering #16 will make the necessary adjustment to the adjacent track centres. *in Templot version 082d and later. Finding space for an extra 16mm between the tracks might be tricky, and it significantly extends the length of a crossover. The rules allow for a minimum of only 3ft extra (12mm) where space constraints make it unavoidable. -Sorry if this is a stupid question answered elsewhere? There are no stupid questions here. However if you click the ? help button or press F2 key when entering data, you will find information such as above relevant to the data line being entered. Often (but not in this case) on the data-entry form there is some more general information available by clicking the more info button at the bottom or by pressing F1. See: data_entry_help.png regards, Martin. |
