Rail Width...,
I'm trying to set the rail head width to 1.5",
so the rail centre will print at 34mm,
to aid in drilling for pegged chairs.

I've done this before...,
but I can't seem to remember what to do.

I've set the rail head to 1.5",
rebuilt the background,
but it still prints with a 2.75 head
and a 36mm centre line...,
what have I forgotten?

HELP, please.

Zoë

Hi Zoë,

Rail head width is set specifically for each template. real > rails > rail section data... menu item.

You must delete each background template in turn to the control/current template, change the rail width, then store the template again.

That's a bit tedious I'm afraid, but  the reason is that you might have several different prototypes and rail widths in the same track plan. So you can't have one size fits all.

If this is a temporary change, and you will want the previous rail widths back, remember to save a .box file first.

To print the rails as a rail centre-line only, change the generator settings > rails options, and then rebuild.

regards,

Martin.
