The 2mm Scale Ass. have a system of etched chairplates that can be used to build a variety of different turnouts as well as plain track. They are based on the C&L printed templates and they also match the templates for a turnout jig that is available from the Association shop. Some time ago you advised me that we need to specify Generic crossing in order that the Templot generated templates will match the sleeper counts of the C&L templates. This works very well and I have prepared the plan for my own layout using this and have now built some of the trackwork. I am running a short seminar on Templot at an Association Expo later this month and I would like to be able to show members a simple way of setting Templot to always use Generic crossings. I can't see a way of doing this and it is very easy to forget when you generate a new turnout. Is there a way of doing it? Geoff |

There isn't any way to change that, sorry. The easy way to start a new template having a generic type V-crossing is to load a .box file containing one. Then click on it and select copy to the control/current template. Then shift it to where you want it and adjust it to the size or radius required. That's the way to save anything in Templot -- store a template containing it. Alternatively you can make such a template a library template in the storage box. Library templates are marked in green in the storage box. Load or add your .box file containing your library templates, on the storage box click on the one you want, and then click the copy to the control/current template button. Using a library template avoids having a template on the screen which isn't part of your track plan, although if it is outside the current page origin it won't get printed anyway. It's often handy to have a row of ordinary templates for copying, arranged along the bottom of the pad below the grid origin. regards, Martin. |
