Dear all,

For those who find the text size here on Templot Club too large for comfort and would prefer something smaller, there is now an alternative theme available.

Click the My Account  button at the top of the page and then the Preferences tab. Change the Theme drop-down setting to Smallfont and then click the Save button.

Note that this will work only while you are logged in. If you log out the display will revert to the default sizes while you are logged out.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin

I have had a look at the smallfont preference and I shall not be changing to it, far to small for my myopic eyes.

Cheers Phil

I'll also be keeping the original size, but then again I have finally had to admit defeat recently and start wearing glasses for, er, "myopia and slight astigmatism". Must be getting old :-)

Well for me, it is a good thing, no more scrolling from side to side.

Martin,

Has something changed on the small font settings?   I've been set to that style to suit the screen on my PC at work and I noticed that I seemed to lose nearly all the HTML formatting and style yesterday.  I've tried setting and resetting in Preferences,  but to no avail.

Hi Jim,

Is it ok now if you do a full refresh? Yesterday I looked at the style sheet online using the hosting control panel instead of the external editor here which I would normally use. I didn't change anything, so I'm a bit mystified about what went wrong. Anyway I have uploaded the original file again and it seems to be ok now.

Sorry about the delay in answering, my broadband ISP suffered a major outage today and I have been offline all day until now.

Next on the agenda is testing in Chrome (Google's new browser which is expected to be released in the next few hours). :)

regards,

Martin.

Good. Sorry about that. Thanks for answering the question 2 minutes before I asked it! :)

Google Chrome up and running and this is written in it.

All seems to be working ok. The WYSIWYG posting editor isn't available, this is the plain text editor as in Opera.

The spell-checker has put a red line under Google!:)

This is driving me round the bend - I seem to have the smallest type face showing and can't find 'themes drop-down menu'

That's because I removed it. :(

Sorry. Maintaining more than one theme became too much work. All browsers now have a zoom facility, and in Firefox you can zoom the text size without affecting the images. Firefox remembers the setting for each site between visits, so there is no real need for a separate theme just to provide smaller text.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin,

I think that the smaller font could be very useful for some people. However, as one of those old fogies who changed to O scale because OO was getting too difficult to see, I think that I will leave things as they are.
