Im really struggling to get to grips with templot i,ve managed to print off my templates for all the other points etc i need on my layout but i need a 3 way point with 2 RH exit roads if i make sense so far. Its like the template you get with a SMP point kit. I,ve given up on trying for now im getting a headache with the program it is tough to get my head around so i am asking for help. Does anyone have a file i could use with the template i a need then the templates are done i can start the construction of the layout. Cheers Simon. |

Hi Simon A three way turnout of the type you describe is just (for example) a RH 1 in 8 turnout superimposed onto a RH 1 in 6 turnout. If you want to include the centre crossing, you then have to start getting into partial templates, but for track construction you don't need that centre crossing on the template. If you let us know what scale/gauge you're modelling, I'm sure you will be inundated with box files :-) As far as learning Templot goes, you really do need to persist with the tutorials. I'm the last person to plough through tutorials, but I was getting absolutely nowhere until I did. Then it all clicked! |

i model in em gauge. I have gone thru the tutorials but with my children etc i dont get much time to actually do anything so time is limited at the minute but i really want to get the hang of the program. But the layout is actually starting to take shape wood is down templates are their just need this damn 3 way done then i can build the whole thing. Simon. |

Paul when i open the file it isnt aligned with the paper joins & i cant figure out how i move it can you help me out please. | ||

Hi Simon I can't help right now other than to give you a general pointer - you need to group the individual templates making up the tandem turnout then move the whole group as an entity, and tack the whole group into your existing plan. That should at least point you to the right bit of the help pages! Unless someone beats me to it, I'll give a bit more detail tomorrow evening. |
