I have managed to get a good bit of time to myself this weekend to learn a bit more in templot & so far following the tutorials i have managed to get myself alote further into the program & i am learning a few new things. Im stuck though i,ve been watching the tutorials & on the laying track over rough sketch tutorial when it comes to curving it is showing that a f10 on the keys is used to create a curve swelling. How do i adjust my key settings so i can do the same?? I,ve upgraded to the latest version of templot becuase alote of the newer videos seem to be done on this so i thought im best doing the same.

Thanks Simon. :thumb:

Hi Simon,

The F10 swell mouse action was introduced in version 078e, so if you are using a later version than that, it should be working. You can see which version you are using by looking in the help > about Templot menu item.

If not, what happens when you press the F10 key? What exactly do you see?

The F10 key is used by Windows as an alternative to ALT to activate the menu system in some programs, so Templot has to over-ride this to make F10 work in Templot. If it's not working on your system, you can get to the swell mouse action by means of the menus instead. Click the action > mouse actions: geometry > swell curving radius menu item, like this:

All the mouse actions can be accessed via the menus in a similar way, if there is a problem with the F keys on your computer. But it is much faster to use the keyboard if possible. There is a handy chart to place behind the keyboard which you can print out by going to the help > print F key chart menu item.

If you are not sure about using the mouse actions in Templot, click this link to see the mouse action notes.

regards,

Martin.

I have also noticed this about the F10 key it only appears to work some of  the time, If the F10 key does not work neither does doing it by mouse action

At first I thought it may be a bug but the answer seems to be with what version of templot were the original templates created, if you delete to current or copy to current a template created in 74 then the curve swelling does not work you need to replace the template with a newly created template in one of the versions from 78e and above
