Rather a long shot but could anybody please give me guidance as to the sleeper length, width and spacing used on Queensland's track and turnouts. (Mainline not sugar cane railways) I took some photographs on a preserved line but they didn't come out as clear as I'd hoped and 10,000 plus miles is a bit far to pop back. Thanks Gordon |

Gordon, I have copied your enquiry to a few modellers of the QGR scene. Nil response as yet but let's see what develops. I'll pass on anything that comes to me personally. Roger, Brisbane |

It's the other end of Australia but the track details may be similar, or the same. His web site is http://website.lineone.net/~asmay/ which has email contact facilities for him. Jim. |

And from John Divine on the "Trackwork" group: You could always try the Permanent Way Institute in Australia. The UK website (http://www.permanentwayinstitution.co.uk) lists branches in South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales - however Queensland appears not to have any internet connections. One of the other two may have contact details for this group John Divine. Regards, Roger, Brisbane |

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. At least if I get it wrong nobody is likely to know! Gordon |

gordon contact Southern Cross Model Railway Association, email amrmagzn@tpg.com.au. This organization is an Australia Wide and has representation in all States of Australia. I am sure they will help. A letter to the editor of AMRM (Australian Model Railway Magazine) using the above email may also bring more responses. Tim Morrow Melbourne Australia |
