I am using Templot 91c with XP pro. When zoomed in close to line up some track near the edge of the baseboard, the top line of my box shape disappears but the bottom line does not so I can line up track there with ease. Also on occasion the centre line across my box shap disappears, usually when I have been zoomed in close. Box file and shape file attached |

Untick pad > pad grid options > grid in front of shapes menu item. The default for this was changed in 091c in response to requests, but it is due to be changed back because so many users are reporting this as a fault. regards, Martin. |

Using 0.91.c on Windows XP. I'm using blank rectangles for baseboard joints. I set the colour & lines to thickness 3. They appear OK on screen. I then save them in a file, but when loaded in a new session the colour & line thickness is set to the default. Howard. |

These or any others. The only exception is the grid settings, which were recently kludged into the .box file purely to keep the peace around here. A full user preferences option is on the list and is frequently asked for. Unfortunately it's a massive task -- I suspect those who keep asking for it have no idea what they are actually requesting. Several months work at least. I purchased an XML component with the hope that it would simplify the task, but so far "simplify" isn't the word which comes to mind. Personally speaking, I have no idea why it's so important to some users. I have been using Templot in its present form for over 10 years now without feeling any great need to save preferences. It takes only a few clicks at the start of a session to set things up how you want them, and often that's not the same as you wanted them before. Perhaps it is knowing how much work it would involve that makes me happier than most to accept the status quo. My inclination is to work on new track functionality rather than saving a few clicks here or there, but I know I shall have to do something about it soon. regards, Martin. |

Martin Wynne wrote: ...Personally speaking, I have no idea why it's so important to some users... I learnt a long time ago that when you write software, someone, somewhere will think of a way to use your program in ways you never thought of. Its therefore best to try and make things as general as possible. Anyway, thanks for your reply. At least I know I'm not doing something wrong. Howard. |
