I am trying to change the gauge of a template I have copied to the Library.

In the past once I restored from the Library, I did CTR+A , then selected the gauge, followed by finding convert group and pressing it (i can find group select but this does not work).

I cannot find convert group any more, please what an I doing wrong.

Hi John,

1. Put the template on the background (store & background menu item). It doesn't matter where.

2. Click on it, and on its menu on the left click group select (toggle). Do the same with any other templates which you want to convert at the same time. Or use any of the other methods for selecting a group of templates.

3. Go to gauge and scale > other gauges... menu item.

4. Click in the list on the new gauge/scale setting which you want.

5. Click the convert group button, which is in the middle above the list of gauges.

(If you are changing the scale in addition to the gauge, the converted template(s) will move to a new position on the pad.)

regards,

Martin.

Hi John,

If it's a 3-way turnout it must consist of more than one template, so the usual functions to change the hand of the current/control template won't be suitable.

Instead, you need to select the 3-way as a group of background templates, and then mirror it.

1. Have it showing on the pad.

2. Click the group-selection fence tool-button at the top of the pad* or click the group > group select > group-selection fence... menu item.

3. Click and drag a rectangle round the 3-way, to select all its templates as a group.

4. Click group > mirror group on Y at notch menu item.

5. The group will be mirrored (flipped) to the opposite hand, but depending where you had the notch, it may have moved. Zoom out to see it, and then use the shift group mouse action to put it where you want it (SHIFT+CTRL-F7).

*The button has a black square symbol below a dotted corner ( the square symbol means "group" anywhere in Templot) -- the button goes green when clicked.

regards,

Martin.
