Ordnance Survey Ireland have made planning maps available online similar to the Planning Portal maps in the UK. The difference is -- they are full screen! Here's the link: http://ims0.osiemaps.ie/website/publicviewer/main.aspx Keep zooming in -- click "Wind Report" on the right to see the tracks without the aerial photos, or "Land Registry" to see both together. Here's a small sample after removing the contour colouring and increasing the contrast a bit. This is part of Inchicore Works : inchicore_works_map.png A detailed help page about using the maps is at: http://shop.osi.ie/shop/faq.html If scaling the maps in Templot, don't forget that the track gauge is 5ft-3in. Another OSI site for historic Irish 25" maps is: http://www.irishhistoricmaps.ie/historic/ Not free -- 5 Euros buys you a day's browsing and downloading from the site. regards, Martin. |
