Martin,

Sorry if this is a repeat... I entered the message and thought I had posted it, but it disappeared into the ether. :(

I found a repeatable crash.  I don't know what portion of this is really relevant, but here's what I did:

I am working on a new stub turnout template.  Started with a standard turnout with my appropriate customizations.

Used ctrl-F3 to blank off the approach and switches.

Used ctrl-F8 to set the peg at the end of the blanked off turnout in preparation for adding the new approach/swingrails.

Stored the template to the background.

"obtain to the control -> mint the control template from"

"geometry -> straight"

"template -> plain track reset", "OK - reset plain track", "yes - use this length"

CRASH!

I'm sure there is a simpler way to get a plain track template to the control... and in fact, I don't even know if what I was trying to do makes sense to Templot.  But never the less, the crash is repeatable.

Joe

Hi Joe,

Yes it's a repeat -- you reported the same error a year ago! :D

See:

  topic 406 - message 2341

The resets don't work properly if the control template contains a custom switch, and don't work at all if the control template contains a custom gauge/scale setting which has not been adopted into the gauge/scale list.

There hasn't been a Pug release in which to correct it since then, so I really must get one done soon. :(

Thanks for reminding me. Sorry about the delay.

If you have an existing plain track template anywhere in your track plan, just click on it and then copy to the control menu item.

If you have only turnouts on the pad, do the above and then template > convert to plain track menu item.

If you want to start with a mint plain track template, template > new template (quick set)... menu item, then select plain track in the template size drop-down list.

regards,

Martin.

I knew I had reported an exit 24 last year, but hadn't realized this was the exact same issue (since I hit it in a totally different way).

Well, at least it's nothing new for you to fret with.

Thanks,

Joe
