Hi all, since starting track building it's amazing what you notice looking at photo's on track work about the length and placement of wing rails, position of fishplates etc. For instance take a look at this picture of the track formation I am building. There is a check rail at the first crossing which appears to be 8 sleepers long, & a fish plate behind another check rail for the other crossing, also all the rail in the crossing & mainline appears to be flat bottomed. Is this common in this time period? Regards Len Cattley 140_101806_230000000.jpg |
