Is it possible to create a diamond crossing with an angle greater than 1:2? I am working on a track plan that has several of these crossings: one is about 45 degrees and the other is nearly 90 degrees. The V crossing options One could, I imagine, just have two tracks sections cross over each other in the plan and construct a crossing from that ...just not elegant in my view..I would like to see the actual crossing drawn. the layout is a micro plan in On30 and will be about 3.5 x 4 feet...lots of track in a small space for continuous running. I plan to automate it and have multiple short trains running ( up to three); this should, at the very least, prove to be amusing. The smallest radius will be tight (less than 9.0"). I will use very small locos and wagons .1701_251134_410000000.jpg I will add through tracks so it can be part of a On30 modular group. I found this on a micro layout website on the web. The switches are all spring switches, with the exception of the one for the spur, so a train and run continuously. Just follow the arrows ! David Garrison |

After that you are on your own with a lot of partial templates. You also need some prototype data, because there is nothing very standard about short-angle crossings, they vary by company and location. There is more info and a drawing in this topic: short-angle crossings . regards, Martin. |

Hi David, I hope Martin will allow this plug for Timber Tracks. If you look at the Timber Tracks Web site - http://www.timbertracks.co.uk you will find ready cut track bases of On30 Plain Track, Turnouts and Shallow angle Crossings. Perhaps some of this may be of use to you. Regards Brian Lewis. |
