Hi All

I hope this is the right section of the forum. I have designed by LSWR Branch terminius with the add of a .box file I downloaded with contained Templot templates for LSWR Type 1 Turnouts. (I cannot remember exactly where I downloaded this from)

These have been constructed using custom settings and do allow changing the crossing (1:6 1:7 etc, but not the planning (A B etc)

If anyone is familiar with this .box file could they advise as the planing setting? It looks like it is a A

Or what planning is a LSWR Series 1?

Alternatively, how do I discover the planning setting from the custom settings?

I may use the new C& L Timber Tracks (they do a LSWR B7) so I need to confirm and maybe modify my plan before construction.

Cheers

Hi Phil,

I'm not familiar with that file. I'm sure the owner of it will soon speak up. :)

I know the South Western Circle can supply some Permanent Way drawings, but I don't have a copy.

To check the full settings for a custom switch, first copy the template to the control template.

Then click template > switch options... menu item.

Scroll to the bottom line of the list -- "settings as most recent custom switch" and click it.

Now click the show switch info button on the right.

To change the settings, click the set custom switch... button, and read all the help notes.

Above is for 091c, but 074b is essentially the same.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Phil,

The reason that I have only produced the LSWR B7, slip and straight track is that is what I was asked to produce. The client provided the drawings.

I am always happy to produce Timber Tracks for any railway, provided you have an accurate drawing with which I can work.

I have a fair collection of Midland Rly drawings, which I will be starting on as soon as time permits.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Regards

Brian Lewis.

Thanks Martin and Brian for your comments. I have ordered the relevant diagrams from the LSWR Society and will verify / change my templot plan accordingly.

Will visit Brian's stand at Scaleforum with regards the purchase of Timber Tracks and possible production of specific Track bases for other LSWR Turnouts.

Brian, are the templates from Templot (developed from prototype data) OK for the Timber Track production? If so I could bring some along at Scaleforum for discussion / comparison to the existing Timber Track LSWR turnouts.

Thanks and regards

Hi Phil,

Timber Tracks is a separate company from Carrs-C+L, although it is operating under the same banner currently. So you will not find them at Scaleforum.  Our web site - http://www.timbertracks.co.uk  will find them.

The LSWR Timber Tracks track bases are produced from prototype drawings so, assuming Templot has done the same, then there should be nothing more than a modest tweaking to do. But do consider that Martin must make Templot generic, rather than specific, bearing in mind the number of railways  that worked to their own designs.

Regards

Brian Lewis.

Hi Brian, Phil,

Templot can be customized to any prototype, certainly for standard-gauge bullhead.

However, I don't have either this file, or the LSWR drawings. So I can't say how closely these particular templates match the claimed prototype.

But I am certain that it is possible to produce correct templates to the LSWR designs in Templot. The generic REA designs are simply the switch-on defaults.

regards,

Martin.

Does this mean that the Timber Tracks buildings will not be available at Scaleforum? I would particularly liked to have seen the GWR station.

Hi Bro. Good to hear from you.

No. Timbertracks will not be attending Scaleforum. You will have to salivate over the pics on our web site.
