And just out of interest, does Templot run under 64-bit Windows 7 - if I'm splashing out on a new OS, might as well be 7, | ||

Yes and yes. Install 074b first, then 091c. But please -- remember to install a local printer driver first. regards, Martin. |

Windows 7 Problem: I just reinstalled from the web site 074b followed by 091c. When exiting out of either program I get the following error message: Cannot create file C:\templot\boxmru.txt. The program will not automatically shut down. Please advise. Bill |

William Adkins wrote: Windows 7 Problem:Hi Bill, Have you copied or backed up your data via a CD? Windows has an infuriating habit of marking all files as "read-only" when you put them on a CD (which is fair enough), but then leaving them like that when you copy them back. You can avoid the problem by copying via a USB memory stick instead of a CD. Please go into the C:\TEMPLOT\ folder. Hold down the Ctrl key and select all the .txt and .ebk files. Right-click on them and click "Properties" on the pop-up menu. Untick the "Attributes: Read-only" tick box. Click OK. regards, Martin. |

Problem solved. . .as one would expect operator error. I used a migration tool to upgrade to Windows 7. When I downloaded Templot a second time it appears to have made duplicate entries that were confusing the program. A complete removal of the old program(s) and new clean install solved the problem. Like you say, always save your release code! Thanks, Bill |

An additional question reference my enquiry on use of Templot with Windows 7. Will Templot work with both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 7? Thanks Brian O'Donovan |

Hi Brianod At this moment, I am running Templot on my new laptop which has 64bit Windows and so far, although I am still very much a learner of Templot, I am not having problems running the programme. The only failure I have had due to 64 bit, is with my money programm 'Money Manager'. Hope this helps Best regards Chris Parsons. |
