  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

    For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

    The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

    Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

Is it possible to download an older update that doesn't have the 3d parts but has the 'draw new and make option. I've been to the current download section and all i'm able to get is 244c

a quick update on this request. I was getting massive wait times of over 10 seconds between operations, so i did some searching and found a post about unused templates, which the user had over 350. I've got over 600 unused templates, i guess i've altered it way too many times. Well i took the advice on the post to delete the unused templates and all is fine now, no more delays and no need for an old update file.
PS., i now have only 16 templates.

Hi Tom,

Glad you solved the problem.

I will add a pop-up message every time the template count reaches 100, 200, ... etc.

For large track plans with 100s of templates, you can speed up operations using:


index.php
