TEMPLOT 3D PLUG TRACK - To get up to speed with this experimental project click here.   To watch an introductory video click here.   See the User Guide at Bexhill West.

  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

I can't believe it's 5 months since the live Templot session I did after the virtual Scaleforum show in September. Time to do another?

The Gauge 0 Guild are doing a similar virtual show on March 6th, so I'm planning to do another live evening session to coincide with that. Maybe with specific reference to 0 gauge track planning.

More about the Templot live screen sessions:

The show will be worth a visit anyway:

The show is open to all -- info at: https://www.gaugeoguild.com/events/guild_shows.aspx?id=4

cheers,

Martin.

Just a note that this time, I'm not going to try to monitor posts here on Templot Club at the same time. To ask questions, use the Templot Chat Room below the video. Thanks.

Something should start to happen about 7.30pm tonight:

Hi Martin,

Will you be posting yesterday evenings broadcast, as you did with the Scaleforum broadcast. I started watching, yesterday, but my tablet spent a long time spooling, so I gave up watching.

Thanks

Phil.

Hi Phil,

I'm sorry about the buffering, it seems you were not the only one. I need to find a better streaming service for next time.

Yes, I will get the recording posted in a day or two. It's quite time-consuming to re-assemble the raw clips, remove the breaks, and then split it up again into meaningful 20-minute-ish sections.

There has been more discussion about the buffering and streaming problems on the Scalefour forum, starting at:

cheers,

Martin.

Thanks very much Martin, I appreciate that there will be some work to produce a decent archive record of the live broadcast and I don't think you need to rush it, as there must be other more pressing issues that need sorting out.

Thanks again.

Phil.
