TEMPLOT 3D PLUG TRACK - To get up to speed with this experimental project click here.   To watch an introductory video click here.   See the User Guide at Bexhill West.

  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

Arrived home today to find Amazon had left me 3 parcels, 2 of them heavy.

Not ordered by me and clearly labelled to an address in Bury St Edmunds. That's only 150 miles away, so an easy mistake to make.

Contacted Amazon. They have no intention of collecting them, the intended recipient will get a refund, I can keep them or dispose of them.

That seemed wrong to me when I could clearly see the name and address of the intended recipient, but I thought I may as well open them to decide what best to do with them. It felt a bit like Christmas all over again.

48 cans of IRN-BRU and 32 packets of Walkers crisps. :)

Well 31 now.

Martin.

I'm suffering a similar issue. My address includes an "address line 2" and for some reason some vendors don't get this, or ignore it, when I use PayPal. Hence I've had quite a few packages going to the same address but in a different town - even though the postcode is correct. I've adjusted my address in PayPal so the town now includes both address lines. Hoping that works!

Rightly or wrongly its the least cost to Amazon solution (which does not say its right) do you have a food bank near ? at least some good will come from it

Hi John,

There is a food bank, but I doubt much good can come from cans of fizzy sugar water and packets of crisps. :)

My thought was to wait until the local model railway club have another exhibition (if, when), and give it to the catering table. But the crisps have only 4 months on the best-before date, so it looks like the food bank for them.

cheers,

Martin.
