The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

Export issues

I’m having issues when I export from the new version. I’m trying to export only the timbers for a point, and everything is selected correctly in the export window. The file that then exports contains all the chairs for my entire track plan. Has anyone had similar issues.

Note: I am using a Mac with Crossover running Templot. However, it did work before the update.

hi ian,
Do you mean version 2.45a?

How are you selecting just that turnout?

Is it by colour or by group?

when you click on the export to dxf/still button, can you then click on show details, then with export tab selected, perform a screen print & post here please?

Also please attach the box file.
Steve

Thanks for replying, Steve. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled afresh and it is working now. There must have been an issue when I updated. With a clean install, everything is ok.

Hi Ian,

Welcome to Templot Club. :)

Glad you got it working. Mac/CrossOver can be a bit troublesome with the program updates. We are working now on an open-source version of Templot which might eventually lead to a native Mac version of Templot.

cheers,

Martin.

Thanks, Martin; much appreciate your response. A native version would be great. Up until the update working in Crossover has been seamless.
I’m sure I’ll be back on the forum with more questions. The 2mm society and James’ Bexhill West videos have been invaluable.
