When aligning a long template over a background map, it can be very useful to use the pad bunching function to see both ends of the template at the same time, at a good zoomed-in size:
But as you can see there is a bug:
This is working only for map tiles (and other picture shapes) which do not cross into the bunch zone. Which on most maps means a long template to bridge the middle tile(s):
It turns out that this bug has existed for 20 years, and has only now chosen New Years Day 2023 to make itself known.
So as "Tips of the day" go this is currently of rather limited use. Quite often templates will be shorter than the tiles, or the tiles need to be cropped or combined into a single picture shape. I will get it fixed for the next program update, because if working properly it would be very handy for use with the background maps.
It's also useful when extracting 3D timbering bricks, so I need to check it is working properly there too.
