TEMPLOT 3D PLUG TRACK - To get up to speed with this experimental project click here.   To watch an introductory video click here.   See the User Guide at Bexhill West.

  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

Getting this message all of a sudden on my iPhone Gmail app. No panic, but does anyone know what may have happened?
Thanks, Mike

@bainin

Hi Mike,

Thanks for that.

Sorry, I don't know what is happening there. I have tested all the email functions and everything seems to be normal and working ok here. Anyone else seeing this?

cheers,

Martin.

Hi Martin,
Yes, I get this now with all emails from the Templot Forum
gmail warning.jpg

There is this in my Gmail settings:-
gmail warning 2.jpg

This is how it was already set by me, probably in response to a previous issue. Emails from Templot therefore stay in the Inbox rather than being put staright into the Spam folder but are marked as 'suspicious'

It started yesterday with Stephen's mapping issue email. messages before then were OK. I am running the web based version of Gmail on Windows 7/64.

I also use Gmail to receive messages from Templot. My e-mail client (Thunderbird) gets them from the Gmail server and all are passed directly on without any warning or diversion to the spam box.

Thanks Rob.

I can't find any differences in the email sources from before and after yesterday.

Are you seeing the same from other XenForo forums such as Western Thunder or the Gauge 0 Guild?

There are some reports on the XenForo support site about problems with Gmail in the last few weeks, but nothing recent about yesterday.

cheers,

Martin.

Hi Martin,
I am not on any other XenForo alerts at present so can't say if they are the same.

Curiously the last message from Stephen ( spurious timbers ) had the Spam warning but your message did not although Gmail put a little "?" next to the message with a note saying that Gmail could not verify that the message has actually come from 85a.uk

Rather odd though as 85a.uk is listed as being a contact of mine.

Hi Rob,

Google issued an emergency update to the Chrome browser this week (also affecting other users of the Chrome engine, such as Microsoft Edge and Opera), following a security scare.

This may or may not be relevant to Gmail.

cheers,

Martin.

Well I don't normally use a web browser to view emails, I use a proper email client (Thunderbird) and gmail - no probs
