I can't help but think that a main problem remains largely unresolved and it's one that afflicts the current state of things as well. Namely the tenuous connection of rail to slide chairs, I know that lost wax brass ones are available but at a cost and Bill Bedford did some etched brass ones in 4mm. However it is still problematic. The thought that has occurred to me is to have some proper etched brass ones or at least the slide part, the chair part of the existing ones on offer can still be used.

I know there is the Masterbits option in 4mm scale but isn't what I really want

So I have quickly designed some in Turbocad and hopefully by the end of the year they will be a physical reality. Of course they will be of a 2 bolt GWR variety. The chair parts can be obtained from the Modelu resin prints as well as Templot in the future? I could do some 4 bolt ones if needed?

Hi @Stephen Freeman
I too am struggling with GWR Chairing for my turnouts :D S1 and L1 chairs are simple to find in Brass or Plastic. But all the special ones doesn't exist in plastic it seems! I am struggling to find them in brass also!
Which chairs are you creating at the moment? If you check my thread, there is an interesting diagram that Martin Wynne posted on GWR Chairs.
I am curious because I need several sets for GWR turnouts and I am running out of options other than to use other variants and "wing-it" or bodge it.
You mention Modelu Resin, do you mean these Slide Chairs? https://www.modelu3d.co.uk/product/2121/

I have used the Modelu GW slide chairs, a drop of cyno, on the base and the jaw, hasn't produced any problems over the last couple of years. I use ply timbering.

I am also using ply sleepers, I plan to order, use and modify Modelu3d Slide Chairs for the various lengths needed :) at roughly 20p a chair it's not bad 😂
