Output for Laser Cutting a selected template from a trackplan

Quick reply >
Export selected templates from track plan New
I have seen the excellent videos of exporting a template for laser cutting, but they all seem to deal with only a single template on the background rather than a complete track plan.

Is it possible to select a template from the plan, for example make it the control template, and then export only that template for laser cutting?

The option maybe there, but I seem not to be able to find it.

I see an option for a group templates only, so I guess forming a group of just the template to be exported would be the way to go, but just curious if there was a better way.

All the best

Phil

Hi Phil, Yes, your suggestion is probably the best & simplest. Grouping is the method I use to export single or multiple templates for laser cutting.

Hi Phil,
You can assign different colours to each template in your box, then you can choose to export by colour.
You can of course have more than one template with the same colour, and then if you export that colour they both get exported.

an example box with two templates.
on your chosen template, tick the brick tick box, this assigns the current active colour to that brick template

and displays the colour in a column in the box listing
move down to your next template in the list and tick the brick box again.
then click on the button next to the brick tickbox that is labelled rgb..... , this pops up the colour selection window

I just chose the next colour along the bottom and clock ok to get:-

this example of two templates of different colour.
You will notice that the actual colour of the templates displayed in the background also changes.

When you choose the 3D export option and show settings you can then choose to export by colour, and also by clicking on the colour can choose which colour to export if it is not the active colour.

It is just another method of grouping, but by colour
