  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

    For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

    The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

    Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

Uploading video to the forum

Hi Martin,
I thought I had seen videos that had been uploaded to the forum, rather than hosted on Youtube etc and linked to. There isn't an 'Insert Movie' when posting so I assume that option is not enabled. Is that correct ? ....maybe I have to put this mornings frog videos for Igor onto Youtube - which will be an experience as never uploaded anything on there.

@Rob Manchester

Hi Rob,

There isn't an option to upload videos directly when posting, but you can upload videos to the video library in the media gallery:

club_video_library.png

Then click the Add media button to upload your video files in mp4, mov, wmv, avi, m4v, ogg, or webm format.

After uploading, right-click on the video and then Copy link or Copy link address.

You can then paste it as a clickable link in your post.

There doesn't appear to be an option to embed the video directly in a post, unlike YouTube videos, etc. Which is a bit daft, I will see what XenForo say.

cheers,

Martin.

Thanks Martin,
The file sizes were too large to follow the above. The Youtube link seems OK though. I edit the link for the frogs, the focus didn't work too well on the original - single area focus mode seems to try and focus on the water surface as the camera is moved around.
