Building diamond crossings

Thanks for the join, I found your web site from watching Bexhill West, and thought it may help me with a 4 way diamond crossing I made about 2 years ago, and I am getting close to running trains but not sure if the crossing will work so I would be interested to know how I could create this type of crossing with Templot ...
Basics of crossing starts with 5 "Y" points and 4 track to left cross 4 tracks to right there are a couple of other tracks either side but they are not using crossings, I also 3D printed middel sections to try and keep wheels in position ... all thr frogs I have wired but the tracks I have yet to isolate, polarity change is done via an Arduino Mega Sketch and minature relays to switch polarity depending which route is selected ...

I have yet to get to know the program but will most definitely use ...

Most grateful for any help...

Hi John,

Welcome to Templot. I have looked at your photo of the crossings and they appear to lack check rails, you will need these, particularly on the obtuse or K crossings, but also on the common crossings.

Hi, The check rails are actually within the 3D parts but not ideal ... that was the problem using strips of PCB material it was so fiddly with short rails ... so was thinking of re-doing in the same material that Bexhill West used if I can find the sleepers and chairs he used ..

Just to add a bit more info has to my original crossing build... I designed in solidworks the template to make the tracks and rail positions, then routed out on my CNC, but found soldering was very difficult and a few choice words ...
